Red IRC Update
Just a few quick bits of Info on the Red IRC...
The Red IRC is also closed to students period 5 and 6 on Wednesday 3/11.
FRESHMAN FOOTBALL
All freshman and returning football players should report to room R225 directly after school TOMOROW (3/11/20) for a brief meeting.
Task 2: Typing Practice (1 - Page)
Today's Activity: Complete a 1-Page Typing Test
- This is an Assessment to gauge where students are at for speed/accuracy.
- This WILL BE GRADED for completion!
Objective 1: Students will complete a ONE Page Typing test in one sitting.
Objective 2:
Students will strive to reach the MA State Department of Education Goal is to type 45wpm by the end of Grade 9 (June 2020).
Objective 3:
Students will understand that this exercise will introduce students to how typing tests are administered in the collegiate & corporate world.
Objective 4:
As speed and accuracy increase, students will make the connection as to how this skill helps them improve as a student or can assist them in getting a job. - (HINT: Guiding Question)
How to Access the ONE Page Test in Typing.com
1. Students will click the TESTS Section of their Typing. com Account.
2. On the Tests Page, students will select the
1 Page Test and complete the exercise to the best of their ability.
Note 1: This is an assessment only, not a test!
Note 2: Pause as needed, stretch, deep breaths, stand
and stretch, if needed.

Objective:
Students will review checking Infinite Campus On Line to increase their ability to be accountable for checking their work and grades.
Instructions:
- Students will log into Infinite Campus and go to 21st Century Computer Applications.
- Students will check for Missing Assignments
- Students will review their Term 3 Progress Notice Status.
- Students will use this class to complete missing work marked as missing in Infinite Campus.
Task 4: Check Email
Objective:
1. All students will log in to their School Email Account (on their computer, not phone) to review, answer of delete any e-messages.
2. If a student receives a message from Ms. Brown they are to review and respond.
3. A message may be regarding Make Up Work.
Task 5: Desktop Shortcut to Drive
In one of our first classes we created a Class Folder as part of the FILE MANAGEMENT Lesson.
Step 1: Locate the THIS PC Icon on your Desktop
Double Click to Open or Right Click select Open
Step 2: Locate your ID number in this window found in
the Network Locations Section of this
Window.
Step 3: Drag this Icon out to your Desktop.
Step 4: Rename this ICON --- MY DRIVE.

Task 6: Basics of Word Processing
Objectives:
1. Students will review/learn how to download to a network drive (Comp Apps/Class Folder)
2. Students will review/learn the basic tools and functions of the word processing application Microsoft Word.
Instructions:
Students will download and complete an 8 page worksheet containing various exercises to demonstrate their knowledge and skill of basic word processing skills.

Task 7: 10 Classroom Expectations
1. Students are on time (in room before the bell).
2. If you are late YOU MUST HAVE a pass!
3. ALL Hoods are OFF! (unless you have an admin note)
3. Students will turn ALL notifications to silent!
4. Headphones & Earbuds are out of ears & away!
**Unless** Teacher grants permission.
5. Students understand phones are AWAY...
- not in their lap
- not in their hand
- not on their desk
6. Phone Charging Station is available, just ask.
7. Phones should not charge at the desk or in any outlet except the Charging Station.
8. No Food - No drinks (except water).
9. If the teacher speaks, ALL students remain quiet.
10. Be kind and work hard by applying effort.
