Objectives:
1. Students will learn how to access their district email accounts via the PC and a mobile device to remain connected to teachers, staff and the daily happenings at Brockton High School.
2. Students will be able to understand the difference between an online classroom and a social network.
3. Students will be able to understand proper behavior when communicating online.
11 Email Etiquette Tips
- Include a clear subject matter, and don't shout (do not use ALL capital letters)
- Always use an appropriate greeting. (Dear Ms. Brown, or Hi Ms. Brown,)
- Consider the purpose of your email & be direct / be clear.
- Be kind not demanding. (use of questions not demands)
- Proofread and correct errors.
- Think before you send.
- Expect 24 hours for a response.
- Remember Email is not Texting: Only use slang/text lingo if you have a friendship with the person - not a professional relationship (like your teacher or mentor).
- Avoid emojis unless you have a good personality measurement of your Teacher.
- Reply in a timely fashion.
- Don't hit "reply all" or CC everyone.
